Learning Objectives

At the end of the activity participants should be able to:

  • Understand the new criteria and molecular testing for neuropathology diagnosis. Review and recognize the current classifications and terminology for brain tumors.
  • Appreciate the clinical impact of frozen sections, recognize potential pitfalls in performing frozen sections, develop strategy for avoiding pitfalls in frozen sections
  • Understand basic concepts of the current state of artificial intelligence-machine learning (AI/ML) for application in Pathology, Recognize the current applications and limitations of deployable solutions in AI/ML, Discuss future applications and concepts in AI/ML
  • Recognize patterns associated with SARS-COVID 19 lung injury at autopsy. Discuss the implications as it pertains to chronic lung injury in survivors
